My name is Paul Bishop and Bishop Wire & Bead is a small hobby business that I run from my home in Kitchener, Ontario.

All of my life, I've been involved in creativity and arts. Growing up in Newfoundland, Canada, I drew, sang and wrote, but I always had a fascination for toys comprised of individual or connected elements that you manipulated.

My introduction to jewelry came from looking at the old designs of my female relative's accessories.  I liked the pattern, sequence and symmetry in those pieces, plus the play of colours.  My interest in designing jewelry came out of a decision for my partner and I to make at least one hand-made gift each Christmas.  He gave me a rosary and in the discussion of the symbolism and design, I decided to try my hand at creating my own pieces…and so Bishop Wire & Bead was born.

I love to experiment and am constantly trying new things in my designs.  My work currently features:
